The invasiveness varies from a locally aggressive to highly metastatic tumor which may arise de novo or in a pleomorphic adenoma. WebMyoepithelial carcinoma is a malignant neoplasm composed exclusively of myoepithelial differentiated cells. Epidemiology Myoepithelial carcinomas account for less than 1% of malignant epithelial salivary neoplasms. Many develop by malignant transformation in pleomorphic adenomas and myoepitheliomas.
