WebPipe jacking (also called microtunneling) is a micro- to small-scale tunneling method for installing underground pipelines with minimum surface disruption. It is used for sewage and drainage construction, sewer replacement and lining, gas and water mains, oil pipelines, electricity and telecommunications cables, and culverts ( PJA, 2024 ). WebPipe jacking is a trenchless construction method to install product pipe through the ground on line and grade for new service lines, sewer tunnels and utilities. Differing from the microtunneling method, pipe jacking requires personnel entry in the tunnel to operate equipment which limits typical installation diameters to 48-inch and above.
